Abstract

|
Despite of remarkable improvement in gaining hearing in patients lost their hearing due to conductive hearing loss either by use of hearing aid or through the middle ear surgery, there is no known device or procedure to improve hearing in patients with sensori-neural hearing loss.
During the past 10 years there were attempts to get some hearing in totally deaf subject introducing electrical stimuli to their auditory nerve pathway. Although they are far from the goal yet, it can¢¥t be denied that there will be days when the totally deaf patients wear electrical devices and communicate freely using those devices.
